Invested Companies

Intercedent can provide incubation services and seed or development capital funding to early stage companies to support them move to the next stages of their growth.  Often, our involvement will be linked to the company’s China Business Plan.

Our initial work will normally include conducting a SWOT analysis, an assessment of 1) the core business strategies and marketing/sales plans; 2) the executive and management team; 3) the implementation strategies; 4) and the organizational development plans.

Today, Intercedent remains an investor in four companies, brief details of which are set out below.  Since our foundation, we have invested in over twenty start-up companies.

Arise Technologies Corporation

Arise Technologies, based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada is a leader in high performance cost effective solar technologies.

As lead investor, Intercedent formed and managed a Canadian Capital Pool on the TSX Ventures exchange. Subsequently, in 2001, Intercedent Ventures Limited undertook a merger with Arise Technologies.

John Gruetzner of Intercedent remains a member of the Advisory Council of Arise Technologies.

Beta Pharmaceutical Limited

Beta Pharmaceutical Limited focuses on the prevention and treatment of breast cancer based on tocotrienols,  a rare form of Vitamin E found preferentially in palm oil. 

Two breast cancer products are under commercial development, namely a low-dose “once a day” oral prevention capsule  for women at high risk of breast cancers  pre-packaged using proprietary micro-emulsion technology; and a high-dose injectable treatment  for women with existing breast cancers pre-packaged using proprietary nano-particle technology.

Beta Pharmaceutical Limited has personnel based in Australia, USA and China.  Since commencement of business and continuing, Alan Reid of Intercedent serves as Chairman of the Board.

Oxus China Limited

Oxus is a China focused human resources advisory and technology firm.  Based in Beijing, Oxus offers its clients recruitment marketing, employer branding and talent management systems.                  

Intercedent arranged the founding investors in the business.  John Gruetzner of Intercedent currently serves as an Oxus Director.

Realstone Systems LLC

Since it commenced business in 2005, Michigan-based Realstone has developed an extensive distribution network in the USA and Canada for its Natural Stone veneers and floor coverings. 

Manufactured in China, the company’s products are ideal for interior and exterior wall cladding, stone flooring, fireplace stone and outdoor kitchen projects.

Alan Reid of Intercedent Limited serves as a Director of Realstone.
